MILTON...SIMPLY THE BEST

Caroline Bradley, who bought him at only six-months-old, was certain he would be the very best, but died tragically before her dream was realized. In 1985 MILTON teamed up with John Whitaker and, together, the pair became the world's most consistent combination - but the drama was far from over.
MILTON was to win two European team gold medals (1987 and 1989) as well as a silver (1991), individual European gold (1989) and silver (1987), the Volvo World Cup Final twice (1990 and 1991), World Championship silver (1990), the King George V Gold Cup (1990), the world's richest grand prix in Calgary ('86) and three Wembley Masters in a row (1988, 1989 and 1990).
But Olympic glory was not to be his; the Bradley's decision not to let him go to Seoul in 1988 was condemned by showjumping officials, who banned MILTON from international team competition for several months. In Barcelona in 1992, when MILTON did contest the Olympic title, a stumble in the final round cost him any chance of glory.
This feature is a tribute to the most remarkable showjumper of our lifetime; told by MILTON's owners, Tom and Doreen Bradley, his rider John Whitaker, as well as fellow competitors, this is the official record of a horse that is the epitome of equine beauty - whose agility, strength, personality, power, obedience and grace will live on in the hearts and minds of the millions of fans he has adopted during ten years at the top of his sport. Join in the celebration of MILTON - truly a horse for the ages!
