150 YEARS OF THE GRAND NATIONAL

Very rare archival footage is shown of the first filmed National from 1910 and its winner, JENKINS TOWN, through the 1920's with DOUBLE CHANCE; from 1941-1945, WW II prevented any further Grand Nationals as Aintree housed 16,000 troops. Virtually every Grand National from the 1930's all the way to 1987 is shown....memorable wins alongside heart-breaking, hard-luck stories; legendary horses like GOLDEN MILLER, BATTLESHIP, SHEILA'S COTTAGE (the first mare to win in 1948), RED RUM and ALDANITI; graphic falls and breathtaking jumps.
There is nothing quite like The Grand National: non-stop action over the toughest fences in one of the world's longest races from one of the most enduring and endlessly surprising spectacles in the sporting world.
